Anita K. Barnes, 59, of Marianna, Arkansas passed away Friday, January 27, 2023 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was born November 19, 1963 to W. A. Smith and Brenda Deaton. She loved her job as a Registered Nurse at Methodist University Hospital.
She is survived by her husband, Tony Barnes, of Marianna, Arkansas; her father, W.A. Smith, of Poplar Grove, Arkansas; her mother, Brenda Deaton, of West Helena, Arkansas; one son, Devon Ramey (Meagan), of White Hall, Arkansas and granddaughter, Alexa Ramey; one daughter, Jennifer Miller, of Tallahassee, Florida; one brother, Bo Smith (Janice) of Poplar Grove, Arkansas and special friend, Tammie Huff of Mammoth Springs, Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Smith and one sister, Denisa Smith.
The family would like to say a special thanks to all family, friends and co-workers that gave time, prayers and support, to her over 4 and a half year battle, it was greatly appreciated and know she loved you all.
A memorial service will be held privately at a later date.

Nita, you was one of the best sister-in-law’s a girl could have. Thank you for loving my brother I know you’re in no pain now we miss you terribly you fought a great fight I know you’re in heaven and I hope that you see my husband and give him a big hug for me. He’ll be the ones in a suit and tie during the day but on the weekends, he’ll be in his overalls and his work clothes. Tell him I love him and I miss him. I will see you both again.

I'm very saddened to hear of Anita's passing. I'm reminded of our days at "good old BHS" where we all were good friends and cared only for Friday Night Football & Team Spirit! My condolences to her family. May she rest in peace.
