of Lonoke, AR
December 1, 1944 - January 28, 2023
Rose Marie Dugger, 78, of Lonoke passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on January 28, 2023.
She was born December 1, 1944 in Charlotte to Fred Lee Jackson, SR. and Eva Mae Tripp Jackson.
As a child, Rose loved to be outdoors and even milked cows with her twin sister, Lucy, every day before school. The love of nature followed Rose - who was known for her love for hummingbirds, roses bushes and horses - into adult life and was passed down to her children and grandchildren. Rose also passed down cherished memories of her love of scrapbooking, blue Christmas trees, cooking in the Dutch oven at horse camp (thanks to Phyllis Speer) and loved shopping for brightly colored clothing, which filled not one, but three closets. Rose also loved being a twin and twinning with her sister, Lucy, every chance she'd get. More than anything, though, Rose loved her family. Despite having reoccurring health concerns and working as an Optician at Arkansas Optical for over 25 years, Rose always made time for the people she loved. She made a point to make everyone's favorite desserts on their birthdays, indulged her grandchildren's countless requests for her famous blue ribbon mashed potatoes and never missed any school functions if she could help it. Rose also spent countless hours at sports games and at the ballpark with her children and grandchildren over the years, even going as far as Louisiana, multiple times. She was the perfect role model of what a wife, mother and grandmother should be and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Rose will forever be remembered by her family and friends for her warmth, kindness and unwavering love and support.
Survivors include her loving husband of nearly 55 years, Benny Dugger; two sons, Greg Dugger (Sally) of Lonoke, Eddie Dugger (Karon) of Lonoke; one brother, Bill Jackson (Willa Dean) of Hardy; one sister, Lucy Ann Manley of Kansas City and four grandchildren, Lance Dugger (Paige), Zach Dugger, Slayden Dugger, Baileigh Dulaney (David); twenty-five nieces and nephews and many dear friends, who she considered family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Eva Jackson; three sisters, Ellen Beach, Florence Taylor, Frances Jackson; brother, Fred Lee Jackson, JR and infant brother, Raymond Jackson.
Pallbearers are Lance Dugger, Zach Dugger, Scotty Manley, Bobby Pierce, Steve Crump and Mike Jackson. Honorary pallbearers are Slayden Dugger, Bob Taylor, Bob Meredeth and Tom Taylor.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 2, 2023 at 2:00pm at the Sharp Methodist Church with Frank Tripp officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from noon until service time prior to the funeral.
