of Little Rock, AR
April 3, 1934 - January 29, 2023
Henry Moore, 88, of Little Rock, AR went to be with the Lord on January 29, 2023. He was born April 3, 1934 in Little Rock to William Henry and Lucille Moore. He graduated from Little Rock High School in 1952 and the University of Arkansas in 1956. He was a proud member of the Razorback football team known as the ''25 Little Pigs''. He was a 2 time ALL-SWC player for the Razorbacks in 1954 and 1955. He went on to play in the NFL for the New York Giants and the Baltimore Colts. He won an NFL Championship with the New York Giants his rookie year, scoring a touchdown after a
blocked punt. After football, Henry pursued a career in sales, including stocks and bonds, building supplies and real estate.
Henry had the gift of encouragement. He was his children's greatest cheerleader. He never met a stranger and was generous to a fault. He was an eternal optimist always choosing to look at the bright side of every difficulty he endured. Henry was a master storyteller who could captivate an audience. Most of his stories would leave you laughing, smiling and shaking your head. He was the life of the party.
Henry was preceded in death by his loving, brilliant, beautiful wife of 40 years, Pattie Settle Moore. He is survived by his children, Maggie Hicks (Lyn), Cathy Womack (Dave), Sally Stokes (Doug) and Greg Moore (Rhonda) and his grandchildren, Austin Hicks, Shelby Hicks, Haley Womack, Erin Womack, Eli Stokes, Harper Stokes, Grant Moore and Mason Moore.
Although we are sad, we do not grieve as those who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again. Henry placed his trust in Jesus Christ so we know we will see him again.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Henry's name can be sent to Immerse Arkansas, P.O. Box 45385, Little Rock, AR 72214.
Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Friday, February 3, 2023 in the Chapel of Roller Chenal, 13801 Chenal Parkway.
I went to Little Rock jr high before moving to Alabama. But I never forgot what a great friend he was that year. I wish we could have reconnected in our later years. Blessings to his family.
I first met Henry when he was in grade 7 and I was in grade 8, at West Side Jr, High, in little Rock, We then attended Little Rock Sr. High, and The University of Arkansas together.
Later, we shared breakfast with the Andys group, weekly, for over 20 years.
Henry was an impressive athlete, but more important, he was a genuinely nice guy, with a great sense of humor, and a prolific story teller. Henry and his friend, Billy Hastings, shared memorable times and were always the 'life of the party". Their likes will not be seen again, and they will be remembered and honored by all who knew them.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family.

What a fun and loving friend. The good Lord picked up a good one when Henry was selected.
Henry was a charter member of Wilsons Tigers and admired by all. His personality was such that many were drawn to him even outside of his athletic abilities.
Prayers for the family. I loved both Henry & Patty. Had many great happy hours with both. Rest in Peace.

What a wonderful and loving big brother!! Always had a big smile on his face and happy to see you. He was a great father to his children and really loved his whole family. I will miss him terribly but know he is in Heaven with Jesus. I will miss you until I see you again.

Great Friend
For so many years, Henry & Patti were such a part of Gary & my lives. Patti went first, but we still saw Henry. Then Gary died and I lost touch with Henry!
I am so sorry for not keeping up with Henry!
He was an awesome friend!
