Tyana ''Joyce'' McCracken James was born January 27, 1935 in Flippin, Arkansas. She passed away Sunday January 8, 2023 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Joyce went to school in Flippin. She enjoyed re-uniting with her graduating classmates at least once a year. Bill and Joyce moved to Kansas City for about 40 years. There Joyce followed the career path of accounting/bookkeeper. They retired back to Flippin, where they lived the duration of their lives.

She was an active and contributing member of the Marion County Heritage Society. She was honored and proud to be asked to be the Grand Marshall of the HoliDazzle Parade.
For fun, Joyce enjoyed the companionship of her Red Hat Ladies. She also loved gardening, to read and she was a "collector" of many things. .Joyce was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan; she always tried to catch the game.
Joyce was a devout animal lover. Any and all animals. However, her pugs were her "babies".
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, William "Bill" James of 51 years. Pearl Osbourne McCracken and Clark McCracken, her parents, also preceded her in death, as did her brother "J.C.".
Joyce was loved and will be missed. "Toodles" dear friend.

We always loved seeing Ms. Joyce at our Friday Game days.
Prayers for her family 🌹
It was such a blessing to share in bible study with Joyce. What a dear sweet Christian lady!
Such a wonderful person. Rest in Peace Joyce.
Holding a conversation, with Joyce, was an experience comparable too reading an encyclopedia or a detailed report of history. She held facts of the "good old days" so fresh in her memory, you'd believe she had been speaking of yesterday. Joyce would never fail to bring a welcomed element of humor to our engagements, as well. Rest easy.
ENJOYED KNOWING JOYCE. SHE WAS ALWAYS READY TO DO HER PART. SHE WAS A CHERISHED MEMBER OF THE MARION COUNTY ARKANSAS HISTORIC SOCIETY AND WILL BE MISSED FOR HER VAST KNOWLEDGE OF HISTORY. REST IN PEACE DEAR FRIEND.
