James "Jimmy" BrownI am a Veteran.

of North Little Rock, AR

April 24, 1936 - December 21, 2022

JAMES "Jimmy" BROWN, 86, of North Little Rock, died Wednesday, December 21, 2022, in Carrollton, TX. He was born April 24, 1936, in Newport, AR.

Jimmy faithfully served in the United States Air Force for 14 years and in the United States National Guard for 8 years. He was employed by the Employment Security Department of Arkansas for 34 years before retirement.

Jimmy was a member of Lakewood First United Methodist Church. He was an avid reader, a talented artist, and enthusiastic sports fan, preferably while wearing a ball cap. He loved eating breakfast foods or a Snickers bar at any time of the day. A meal was not complete in his eyes without a piece of bread and ended perfectly, with a slice of pie. Jimmy lived his life with integrity, faith, kindness, and a solid work ethic. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, and son.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Roseleen Brown, his parents, Hiram and Mary Brown, and his siblings, Joseph Brown and Diane Bise.

He is survived by his beloved son, Sean Brown of Carrollton, Texas; his brother, Jerry Brown (Vickie) of Fairfield, TX; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Arrangements are under the direction of Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd., North Little Rock, AR 72116, (501) 791-7400, where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m., Friday, January 6, 2023. Funeral service will be at Lakewood United Methodist Church, 1922 Topf Rd, North Little Rock, AR 72116, at 10 a.m., Saturday, January 7, 2023. Burial will be at McNew Cemetery near Greenbrier at 1:30 p.m.

My thoughts and prayers to Jim’s family. I also was employed by Employment Security Department and knew Jim for many years. He cared for his wife and son deeply and spoke of them often. Jim was a very kind person to others. GOD bless.
