Billy Ray Covington, 77, of Osceola, passed away in Lake City on Wednesday, December 21, 2022. He was born on May 5, 1945 in Lepanto to Levi and Bertha Mae Covington. Billy retired from Cyro Industries and was a member of North Tenth Street Baptist Church in Blytheville. He went into the Army in 1965 and was Honorably Discharged in 1967. Billy was a Vietnam Veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Covington; daughter, Regina Covington Taylor; granddaughter, Tyler Madison (Austin) Griffin; great grandchildren, Logan Ramsey Griffin, Lex Taylor Griffin; sisters, Carolyn (Carl) Morgan, Jean Morris Skaggs and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Billy Ray Covington Jr and brother, Bobby Covington. The visitation will be held at Roller-Swift Funeral home on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. The funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm. Billy was closest to my late brother John Terry Nelson and I remember when we ran around Keiser so many years ago. I often think fondly about those days. My deepest sympathies to Arlene and family!

Brant and I are so saddened to hear of Billy’s passing. We always thought a lot of him and enjoyed visiting with him. I know your hearts are broken but I also believe that he has gone on to his just rewards in a much better place. We will keep all of you in our thoughts and in our prayers.
