Lucille James, 99, of Batesville passed away Sunday, December 11, 2022.
Lucille was born August 16, 1923 in Batesville, Arkansas to Samuel Wesley Nothern and Rittie (Lockmey) Nothern.
Lucille was an active member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church. She was a sweet and caring lady who loved her family, especially her great granddaughters. Lucille worked as a CNA for many years. She was very involved with the activities at the assisted living facility.
Survivors include one grandchild, Michael Gardner (Amy); two great granddaughters, Reese and Brett Gardner; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; Husband, Delos James; one Daughter, Patricia Gardner; one brother, George "Cubby" Nothern and two sisters, Irene Hodge and Armita Hodge.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, December 15, 2022 at James Cemetery with John Sanders officiating.
What a sweet lady she was. I went on several vacations to Branson with Lucille & aunt Glenda. We always had a hoot.
Prayers for the family at this time. Lucille was such a sweet person and we always enjoyed visiting with her. She and mom enjoyed many conversations over the past months reminiscing. The last
time we saw her, she was singing hymns with a group around the piano. God Bless you all at this time.
I'm certain Lucille is enjoying a great reunion with loved ones and friends.
