My Aunt Sue was only 14 when I was born, so she was like a big sister to me. She helped my other Aunts and Grandmother spoil me. I loved her like a sister and have so many wonderful memories of her, and of Tom after they married. She was always happy to chat on the phone, and we enjoyed our in person visits, even though they were few. I will always cherish the time spent with her and now rejoice that she is with her Tom and all the loved ones who have gone before her, and in the presence of her Saviour. Lindsay and I are praying for all of you.

Sue was there in some of my memories of my youngest days as she was my Mother's baby sister. She and her late husband, "T.J." Moore were always so good to me. Later in life, she and my 2nd wife became close friends and we both miss her almost daily phone calls and our visits with her in Searcy , both at her home and at the nursing home. I never heard anyone, friends, family or acquaintances speak one negative word about her. She was always ready to smile and laugh. Good to know she has now graduated to a life full of " Joy unspeakable", far removed from infirmities and sufferings.

At one time there were 4 dear, faithful and godly widows sitting on the third pew on the left side of the auditorium.
Sister Sue was one of these Dear women.
Every service that they could, they would joyfully make their way , down the aisle, to THAT pew.
What wonderful examples they were to all of us. We all knew they had pains, concerns, troubles and yes, sorrows. They had known joys as well as experienced great sorrows and losses.
Yet, Sister Sue and these faithful women had smiles on their faces and a song on their lips.
Before Covid hit, you could always count on Sister Sue & these steadfast women to give the BEST hugs. The kind that could make you forget you had any problems in your own life.
One by one these sweet, godly women have been called HOME.
I remember thinking that after the other three of them had passed on that Sister Sue would surely start sitting with someone else or with Kenny, Naomi and Seth. But, Sister Sue stayed true to the special bond that had once led her to THAT pew, after her sweet Tom was called HOME. The bond of widowhood~sisters.
I am sure that when it was her time to go, the Angels came and escorted her to Heaven's gates, that she was personally welcomed by her Heavenly Father. And I have no doubt the first things He said to Sister Sue was: "Welcome Home, my child....my good and FAITHFUL SERVANT. Enter thou into thy joy & rest."
THAT pew will, forever, make me recall PRECIOUS memories of Sister Sue and those faithful Matriarchs.
May we learn from their godly examples and serve God, and others with the same joy & love.~James & Teddie (Theora) Helms
