Bill D. Blansett

of Mountain View, AR

December 10, 1935 - November 29, 2022

Billie D. Blansett of Mountain View, Arkansas passed peacefully on Tuesday November 29th at the age of 86. Born in Oklahoma, Bill and family moved to Arkansas where he later graduated from Mountain View High School in 1954.

His pursuit of work and opportunity led him to Wichita, where he started what became a 40-year career with The Boeing Company. After retiring in 1994, Bill enjoyed returning to the small town life in Mountain View where he spent the last 3 decades farming and restoring Farmall Tractors with friends. He was known for his commitment to his family, and passion for sharing his life experiences through storytelling in his later years.

Bill is survived by his wife Linda L. Blansett, Daughter Donna, son in-laws Dan and Galen, and three grandchildren Brandon, Eric, and Katie.

He is preceded in death by his loving daughter Sherra.

Funeral Services for Mr. Blansett will be 2PM Saturday, December 10, 2022 at Flatwoods Missionary Baptist Church in Mountain View, Arkansas. Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will follow at Flatwoods Cemetery. Brother Finis Brewer will officiate.

Roller- Crouch Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Very sorry to hear of Bill’s passing. I met him just the once in 1989, early in my career after I had started up a company to commercialise new technology for the production of aircraft wiring systems. I was introduced to Bill, who was then VP Production at Boeing Everett, and he very kindly gave me some of his valuable time and organised meetings with his manufacturing R&D team. That meeting with Bill was pivotal in opening the door to a 30+ year relationship with Boeing and helped propel our technology to become a global standard. My recollection of my meeting with Bill was of a consummately professional but kindly, patient man willing to listen and give some new kid on the block time out of his undoubtedly packed diary. I’ve never forgotten that 30 minute meeting, it was pure gold in retrospect, so thank you Bill. My condolences to Bill's family.

So sorry to hear of the passing of this special man, so nice, so smart. Truly a unique man in his own right and he will be greatly missed. Linda and I bowled together for many years and he made our local trip to tournaments a fun adventure. I have to admit that at Boeing, he was Mr. Blansett and away from work he was just plain Bill. Rest in peace old friend.

I worked with Bill at Boeing in Seattle for many years. He could always be counted on to get jobs done. His work ethic and friendship could always be counted on. We kept in contact after retirement and my wife, Clari and I will miss his correspondence. He was a good man! May he rest in peace.

My dearly beloved brother - I will forever miss you so! I was so blessed to have you as my big brother. You and Linda always included me in your life and blessed me with so much joy and opportunities, sharing our family history stories, as only a loving brother and sister-in-law as yourselves could do.

It will forever remain that you were a man of great integrity, hard working, uplifting to others and dedicated to your work, your loving wife, children and grand-children and many extended families and friends. You graced our lives with joy, cheer, fun, adventure, education, and empowered us with your knowledge and many skills. Mom and Dad were so proud of you.

You will be forever in my heart, with much love. Your sister,
Rosetta Mae Blansett
