Morris Wayne Sims, Sr, 79, of Paris passed away Monday, November 21, 2022 in Paris.
Morris was born June 23, 1943 in Paris, Arkansas to Thomas Henry Sims and Lizzie Mae (Wiggins) Sims. He was a retired truck driver for Tyson River Valley Foods and was a United States Army veteran serving during the Vietnam war. Morris was a very strong-willed man of many talents.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his three brothers, Leon Sims, Don Sims and Thomas Henry Sims, Jr; two sisters, Dorothy Hilliard and Gladys Davison.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years, Ruth Ann (Nast) Sims; one son, Morris Wayne, Jr. and wife, Darla of Paris; one daughter, Terri Dickerson and husband, Randy of Ozark; one sister, Nora Parker of Paris; six grandchildren, Cody Sims, Levi Sims, BJ McDaniel, Megan McDaniel, Tyler Brotherton and Travis Dickerson; thirteen great-grandchildren; other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2022 at Roller Funeral Home Chapel in Paris followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m., officiated by Bro. Bo Rector. Burial will follow in Baxley Cemetery under the direction of Roller Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Morris Sims, Jr., Levi Sims, David Humphrey, BJ McDaniel, Tyler Brotherton and Travis Dickerson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Cody Sims and Megan McDaniel.
