William Gid Dobbs, 86, of Clarksville died Tuesday, November 8, 2022. He was born April 5, 1936 in Clarksville to Man and Suda Maxie (Hamilton) Dobbs. William was deeply devoted to his family. He was kind and generous to all he met. William was fond of gardening, hunting, playing cards and he could fix just about anything.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Man and Suda Dobbs; his loving wife, Gloria (Houston) Dobbs; one infant son, Brucie Dobbs; one brother, Jack Dobbs and two sisters, Magaline Acorn and Frances Thomas.
William is survived by one son, Lonnie Dobbs; one daughter, Kim Padelli and husband, Dominic; five grandchildren, Michael Dobbs, Kerri Santino, Danielle Santino, Steven Martin and Kilee Wiegel; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Dobbs and Donald Dobbs; four sisters, Anna Smith, Catherine Worth, Lucy Elms and Etta Houston and numerous other family and friends.
A visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2022 at Roller-Cox Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, November 19th at Roller-Cox, followed by interment at Woodland Cemetery. Bro. Bob Powers will officiate. Christian Houston, Taylor Houston, Michael Dobbs, Edward Coffman, Ryan Houston and Tyler DeBusk will serve as bearers.

Bill was my security blanket. He fixed many junky lawnmowers for me. He was always there when when I had problems with my cars or when I was struggling with anything. He was always glad to help anyone.
