Harold Lloyd Blackwell, age 89, of Marshall, Arkansas died Friday, October 21st, 2022 at his home with his family by his side. He was born in the Witts Springs Community of Searcy County Arkansas on March 18th, 1933 to Major Burton Blackwell and Verna Leona Laymon Blackwell.
Harold attended the Harriet Assembly of God and was baptized June 4th, 2017 by Pastor Donnie Horton. Harold served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was aboard the USS Glendale. After his discharge from the Navy, he continued to serve his country stateside with the National Guard 224th Maintenance Division. Harold worked side by side with his wife of almost 64 years, Jeweldean Treat Blackwell, running the Best Cleaners in Marshall, Arkansas. After selling the cleaners, they worked in Conway at the Model Laundry. He loved farming, being outdoors, hunting and most of all fishing. Harold spent many nights fishing on Bull Shoals Lake, Greers Ferry Lake and Choctaw Lake. He spent many weekends floating the Buffalo River with Jeweldean shuttling boats for him.
Survivors include his daughter, Debra (Gary) McDaniel of Marshall; grandsons, Michael Blackwell and Cody (Ashley) Baysinger; great-grandchildren, Connor Baysinger, Halen Baysinger and Sophia Blackwell; niece, Lanae Gillispie of Springfield, MO; nephew, David Treat of Bentonville; great-nieces, Jerra (Ricky) Icenhower and Julie (Tyler) Thorton and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
Harold is preceded in death by his wife, Jeweldean Treat Blackwell; his parents, Major and Verna Blackwell and his siblings, Donald Jack Blackwell, Billy John Blackwell, Doris Jean Ford and Linda Sue Terrell.
Funeral services for Harold will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 26th, 2022 at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Donnie Horton officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Tuesday, October 25th, 2022 in the Chapel. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery where Harold will be laid to rest beside his wife, Jeweldean. Bearers will be Gary McDaniel, Travis Ragland, Russell Horton, Randy Hubbard, James Watson and Ed Akin.
