Carrol Vivian Ray McCormac went home to Jesus on Saturday, October 1st, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Friday, June 7th, 1935 in Riverton, Louisiana to Roy and Freddie (Reitzell) Ray. Carrol was a graduate of Willits, California High School. In Willits she met and married the love of her life, Dick McCormac. They were married on May 22nd, 1954 and returned to Clinton, Arkansas in 1959. They were blessed with seven children.
In her younger years in California, Carrol was a member of Job's Daughters. After graduation, she worked in a bank and later in a bakery where she met her future husband. Upon moving to Arkansas, she spent years teaching Sunday School and working as a cook in Clinton Public School cafeterias.
Carrol enjoyed reading her Bible and poetry, feeding wild birds and cooking for grandchildren or anyone who wandered into her kitchen. She liked watching PBS nature specials and listening to hymns. She also welcomed into her home and hosted exchange students from Colombia. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren, making them their favorite treats.
Carrol is survived by her children, Mike (Norma) McCormac, Cheryl (Randy) Baker, Cindy (Steve) Lewis, Brenda Coats, Richard (Gia) McCormac and Leo (Lily) Liu; seven grandchildren, Patrick, Jared (Emily) and Ethan McCormac, Taylor and Maddie Coats, Ellie and Carson McCormac, Alex (Dora) and Ashlyn Liu and five great-grandchildren, Greyson and Stone McCormac, Jayla and Jaycee McCollum and Emery Sanderson; sister, Bobbie Hinton; uncle, John Reitzell; sisters-in-law, Sally Workman, Ruth Bruce Hodge and Gloria McCormac and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Mrs. McCormac was a shining child of God her whole life. She was there to hug us when we visited Clinton Church of Christ and she was there at Clinton High School to fawn all over us in regard to Yellowjacket football and basketball and baseball.
I'm two months late on knowing she died. Richard is in charge of Clinton, which means that Carrol is overseeing Clinton from Heaven. Clinton is blessed, directly from Heaven, because of people like Mrs. McCormac. Clinton is in heavenly hands.
Richard, my old friend, I called and talked to Dena this morning and you were on a phone call. I'll talk to you later on. I wanted you to know how much our family loves your family. It was great talking to Dena and then knowing I'll talk to you later. Win-win.
To the McCormac family- Doris Jean and I are thinking of you all. We did not hear about Carol ‘s passing until it was too late to attend. Please know we have you in our hearts and prayers. Carol was such a wonderful person and helped so many people in her life. She encouraged so many ( myself included). She taught my girls in Sunday School in Clinton and will never be forgotten by anyone who ever met her. We love you and we are of course your loving cousins ever.

So sorry to hear of Carrol's death. Richard has been a good friend and brother in Christ for many years. He talks about the mother and her love for God. May the good Lord give her a perfect resting place. My deepest condolences to the family especially Richard ðŸ™ðŸ™
Our deepest condolences for the loss of Ms. Carrol. Such a wonderfully sweet woman that was an angel among us. Peace to the family during this time.
The first time I met Carrol was after a trip to Dennard with Mike to do some metal detecting. We were hoping to find some "buried treasure", but all I dug up was a quarter and a dime from near the old home's drive. On the way back we stopped to have lunch with Carrol and after introductions she asked if I had found the "family silver". I shook my head sadly and she just said "It's okay you can do the dishes to pay for your lunch". My hand quickly found those 2 coins and I laid them on the table and said "But I found 35 cents!". That was one of the best bargains of my life. We had a great meal and even better company, and Carrol made sure to invite me back "just anytime". She was warm and gracious and sincere, and you never left her house doubting that she truly meant for you come back and see her. Happy homegoing Carrol, I'll see you again one day.
So sorry to hear of Carol’s passing. She was one of my first Bible School teachers while growing up. Always such a sweetheart! She was so full of life and energy. She participated in the Hunger Run in her eighties! She was an example for us all and enriched every life she touched. Prayers for the family â¤ï¸

I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was a wonderful woman and I loved her very much. As a kid, I would spend hours at your home and was always welcomed with a smile. As an adult, I would still stop by just to talk to her and give her a hug. Losing a mom is one of the hardest things a person will ever go through; however, please remember she will be with you through this. She will always be with you.
Your whole family will be in my prayers.
