January 8, 1935 - August 24, 2022

Edna Hunnicutt Fell, age 87, of Little Rock, Arkansas, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 surrounded by loved ones. Edna was born January 8, 1935 in Little Rock, to Cody Eugene Hunnicutt and Beatrix Schallhorn Hunnicutt. She was blessed to have an inspiring younger sister, Jeanne, whom she adored. Her mother passed when she was 12, and Lois Tharp Hunnicutt became a loving stepmother to the girls. Edna grew up in Russellville and Clarksville, graduating from Clarksville High. She was crowned Queen Alberta X, representing the Johnson County Peach Festival.

Edna attended Arkansas State Teacher's College and College of the Ozarks, where she met the love of her life, George Raymond Fell. He was her Football Player and she was his Homecoming Queen. They were married on July 4, 1954 in Clarksville, and were devoted to each other for 47 years, residing in Clarksville, Fort Smith, Camden and Little Rock.

Edna was a loving Mom and Grammy to 3 daughters, 7 grands and 3 great grands. She enjoyed game nights with her grands, gardening, church, bridge club, travel and anything Razorback. She was a talented seamstress, a wonderful cook, a competitive ping pong player, Champion of Chicken foot, and loved to fish and go on cruises. She was a passionate Cheerleader for all family performances, competitions, sports, recitals & celebrations. Grammy was there! Always sharing her sweet smile and positive attitude, she loved her family and friends completely and unconditionally.

Her work career included secretary, preschool teacher, community & school volunteer, and bookkeeper before retiring after 20 years with Little Rock Family Practice. Edna was a long-time member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where she built beautiful friendships within the Open-Door Sunday School Class. She was grateful to serve alongside friends in the Altar Guild Ministry.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, step-mother (Lois Tharp Hunnicutt) and beloved sister, Jeanne Taylor (Travis). Survivors include three daughters, Linda Fell Swain (Barry), Mary Fell Jenkins and Julie Bea Curtis (Gregg); seven grandchildren, Erin Swain of Lonoke, Kristen Curtis of Greenville, S.C., Kendall Jenkins Crow (Taylor), Casey Jenkins Cole Jenkins, Cody Curtis and Keaton Curtis (Jordan); two great-grandchildren, Beckett, Sutton, Truitt Crow; cherished first cousins, Tommy Schallhorn (Susan) of Bentonville, David Schallhorn of Cantonment, FL, Johnny Schallhorn (LouCree) of DeWitt, Mary Jean Dabbs (Bill) of Little Rock and special nieces, Donna Ruggles (Lynn) of Fairview, TN, Gail Ruggles Griffith (Jeff) of Hope, and a Loving host of cousins, nieces and friends.

Edna holds a special place in my heart. Cheerful and compassionate, she was a friend and companion from second grade at East Central Grade School in 1942 through Girls Scouts and Rainbow Girls and our graduation in 1952. Fabulous Fifties Reunions brought us back together when we celebrated our fiftieth reunion and had so much fun we continued until COVID intervened. She was always the life of the party and did more than her share to support the reunions. I spoke to her about a month or so ago and she had the same sweet reponse and giggle. We spoke of Heaven and I am comforted to know that she has reunited with George, Jeannie and her other loved ones. I pray that her girls who took such good care of her will remember the good times.
