of Lead Hill, AR
April 25, 1927 - August 8, 2022
Norma Lee (Trimble) Burleson, 95, passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 25, 1927, in Lead Hill, Arkansas, the 3rd child of Troy & Edna (Whitley) Trimble.
She was a graduate of Lead Hill School and a lifelong resident of Boone County, Arkansas. She married Charles (Russell) Burleson on October 11, 1948. Four years later their daughter, Marquita was born, then seven years later son, Troy, and one-year later son, Johnny.
Norma was a strong Christian Lady who read her bible every day and never shied away from discussing God's word. She is remembered by her kids and grandchildren for always being there with a listening ear and sound advice. She was known as (Snooks) or (Ninny) and is remembered for her humor and witty remarks. She was a member of Locust Church of Christ at Lead Hill and a lifelong member of V.F.W. Auxiliary. She enjoyed keeping up her big yard, gardening, genealogy, and being outdoors. She was an adventurous person, riding bulls, playing basketball, horseback riding, waterskiing, and working in a gunpowder plant. Even in her older years, she didn't shy away from trying new things, canoeing, snow tubing, riding 4-wheelers, jet skiing, bluff jumping, and shooting paintball guns, She was quite the historian of the area and the people who lived here. Norma loved family, helping others, visiting the sick, and volunteering in her community. When you walked into her simple, but well-kept home, she immediately made you feel special and would bustle about preparing you something to eat. Attending church on Sunday was the highlight of her week and after church, she would invite everyone over for a home-cooked meal. She was a homemaker and at one time owned a beauty shop with her sister, June. She worked for Ozark Opportunities, the Shirt Factory in Yellville, and Emerson Electric in Harrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell of 54.7 years; one brother & sister-in-law, Farris & Merle Trimble; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Allene & Virgil DeShields, June & Bob Hutcheson; nine brothers-in-law; eight sisters-in-law and one great-grandson, Aero Keith Burleson
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marquita & Rick Curtis of Lead Hill, and two sons and daughters-in-law, Troy & Tina (Cobb) Burleson of Lead Hill and Johnny & Michelle (Hurst) Burleson of Lead Hill. Eight grandchildren, Chris Curtis (Jaclyn), Brandon Curtis, Brianne Burleson, Skyler Burleson, Nick Burleson (Jennifer), Jered Burleson (Hannah), Jessica (Burleson) Harris (Weston), and Scott Burleson (Katie). Twelve great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Chase, & Brody Curtis, Malachi & Josiah Curtis, Barrett Burleson, James, Benjamin & Elizabeth Harris and Sapphire, Zara & Darcy Jo Burleson

Rest in Heavenly Peace, as a kid I remember the highlight of visiting was the beautiful welcoming spirit of Aunt Snooks! Everything about her was just so graceful and peaceful to me. A beautiful Christian woman who made a difference.
