Moon Lake, MS: A funeral service honoring the life of Sherman Wayne Allen, 82, will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 at 9am at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home, 508 Plaza Street, West Helena, AR. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, West Helena, AR. There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 from 6pm to 8pm. Officiating the service will be Reverend Bobbie Baker.
A celebration of life for Sherman Wayne Allen will occur immediately after graveside, at The Party Place, 2372A US 49, Lexa, AR.
Sherman Wayne Allen was born to Sherman John Allen and Corrine Taylor Allen on November 27, 1939 in Sibley, Louisiana and entered into rest the morning of July 23, 2022 at UMMC Jackson, MS due to Covid-19 and surgery complications.
Sherman was a resident of Moon Lake, MS for the last 2.5 years, enjoying building out a family place for all of the children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, neighbors and everyone who enjoyed having FUN fishing, shooting guns, boat riding, playing cards and talking SEC sports, especially his LSU Tigers. Those who knew Sherman would say he was well rounded, loved to be center of attention, competitive, a teacher and coach at heart. He encouraged his 3 daughters to lead, all give their very best and be self-sufficient. His unique approach made you know once a friend always a friend. Sherman attended LSU, worked at Texas Eastern Gas Pipeline Company for 30 years, retiring at the age of 52 as a District Station Operator. He served as an Army 793D Military Police Battalion Officer. Sherman was a member of the Sahara Shriners Fraternity.
Sherman was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Loretta Sharpling. Left to cherish his memories are his daughters, Kelly Rottinghaus and husband, Andrew Rottinghaus, Dana Khmous and husband, Muhsen Najdawi and Donna Khmous and husband, Khaled Khmous; grandchildren, Jordan Simpson and husband, Donald Glean Simpson, Kayla Parker, Savannah Rottinghaus, Zaina Abunasrah, Sara Najdawi, Sarah Khmous, Natalie Khmous, Isabella Khmous, Hyatt Khmous, Sophia Khmous, Adam Khmous, Amna Khmous; great-grandchildren, Kraeton Simpson and Reese Simpson along with numerous nieces, nephews and other loved ones.
Honoring Sherman Wayne as pallbearers will be Bobby Huckaby, Khaled Khmous, Muhsen Najdawi, Donald Glean Simpson and Aiyden Huckaby.
