March 25, 1946 - July 15, 2022

James "Andy" Stimpson passed peacefully from this life at the age of 76, on Friday, July 15, 2022, in the comfort of his home and surrounded by the love of his family. Jim, known by most as "Andy", was born in Hughes, AR, on March 25, 1946, to parents, Minnie Mae and Louis Stimpson. He graduated high school and then enlisted in the U.S. Army. After serving three years, Jim began his lifelong career in foodservice distribution management. He enjoyed his work immensely which provided him the opportunity to relocate several times, until his retirement in 2005.

Jim's passion was his love of golf, where he developed special relationships that remained strong and true for his entire life. He was an avid reader, finding enrichment in the Bible. Jim was a faithful member of the Assembly of God in Marianna, AR, and then moved to Barton Baptist Church in Barton, AR in 2015. In addition to his devotion to his church, he volunteered much of his time to teach the gospel to the senior community. Jim loved the professional sport teams of St. Louis, often attending live games of the Cardinals and the Blues with family and friends. Those that Jim knew well, often noted that nobody could nap like he could, and he proudly owned that. His sarcasm, humor, positivity, and playful approach to life will be missed immensely - everyone that crossed his path became truly fond of him.

Survivors include his wife, Kristi Jordan; his ex-wife and mother of his children, Linda Stimpson; daughters, Angela Cuozzo (Mike), Amanda Cutter (Lou) and Elissa Kedren Ummel; son, Todd Stimpson. Grandchildren: Amber DiPiazza (Tony), Brytney Stimpson, James Cutter (Kiersten), Valerie Stimpson, Taylor Cutter and Kyle Stimpson, Olivia Jordan Mette. Jim's brothers: Don Stimpson (Dumpy) and Danny Chrestman (Sheree). He was predeceased by sisters: Betty Stimpson Booth, Barbara Chrestman (Donny); brother Louie ''Sonny'' Stimpson. In addition, Jim is survived by many nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Memorial will be announced at a later date, in which close friends and family will be invited.

Donations in Jim's name may be made to Women & Children First: The Center Against Family Violence, P.O. Box 1954, Little Rock, AR 72203 or online at: https://bit.ly/3B4TZey

I am so sorry about Andy. He was always a good guy. He was the youngest of three brothers and three male cousins who grew up on our grandfather's farm. He never let his younger age prevent him from joining in our adventures of exploring the woods on the farm and learning to swim in Blackfish Bayou.
