Isaiah Hall

of Little Rock, AR

February 9, 2004 - July 1, 2022

Isaiah Whittington Hall (AKA Billy) was born on February 9, 2004. He died, tragically, on July 1, 2022 of multiple gunshot wounds after breaking up a fight. He had just graduated from Joe T. Robinson High School and was scheduled to attend Pulaski Tech in order to fulfill his dream of becoming a diesel mechanic. He is survived by his parents, Richard and Lydia Hall; his siblings, Abigail, Emma, Sarah Grace and John August Hall; his grandparents, Nancy Scott (Rick), Dr. Whit Hall (Lisa), Patricia Gettings; his girlfriend, Amelia Johnson and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and wonderful friends.

As a child he was creative and artistic, he loved legos, comic books and he filled notebooks with detailed drawings of imagined spaceships, strange creatures and robots. He considered becoming an engineer until he discovered the joy of cars, trucks and 4-wheelers. He loved to drive and work on vehicles with his own hands. He spent many late nights under the hood of his '93 F250 with his friends as they learned together the mechanics of what made it go and how to fix it when it needed repair. He was always up for a good time and those good times usually involved turning a wrench, four-wheel drive, mud puddles, loved ones and probably a bonfire.

He also loved hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was a good hunter and safe to a fault. He seldom took the first shot, and he rarely missed. He respected the wildlife, the outdoors and the fellowship with his grandfather, uncles, cousins and friends more than anything else about the hunt.

His gift was his humor. He was the opposite of a fashion statement. He was known to wear American flag cowboy boots, pajama bottoms and a leather jacket to school. He would stop by to get coffee from one of his favorite teachers or say I love you, even though he was interrupting or late to his own class. Without exception, and despite the fact he never turned in homework on time, his teachers and classmates adored him. He was the class clown and was able to turn an otherwise drab day into an unforgettable high school experience.

He held a special place in the hearts of everyone who knew him. He was always loving, gentle, kind, generous and never disrespectful to anyone. He was a peacemaker and the epitome of contentment. He loved God and he loved his fellow man and he lived this out when he literally "laid down his life for his friends" (John 15:13). His spirit will live on in this world, through classmates, family and friends for whom he gave that final gift.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to donate to Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF). Visitation will be Saturday, July 9th, from 5-7 PM at Bible Church of Little Rock, 19111 Cantrell Road. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, July 10th at 2 PM at the same location, with a graveside service for family held afterward.

I moved back to America for Ethiopia and wanted to see him to tell him about my life and ask him how he was doing. God bless your family who has already suffered so much. I will never forget our crazy adventures or our days in church together. With much sorrow Luther Layton

Nancy I am devastated about the death of your sweet Isaiah. I am going to miss this service and that hurts. In spirit I will be there just like you were there for me when I lost family members. I'll see you soon and may God bless you and your family. Love you so much, Kathy

I am heartbroken at the loss of this sweet young man. I have no words for his loving parents and family except to say "May the Lord bless you with a peace that passes understanding." This is a hard thing to bear.

In Paul's letter to the Philippians, he said: "Then the peace of GOD that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Keep on doing what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me. Then the GOD of peace will be with you."
It was apparent that Isaiah was a peacemaker and lived that life to the fullest; and gave his life for peace.
May he now Rest in Peace.

My wife and I lost a son to a meaningless act and we share your grief. Only our belief and faith in a sovereign God carried us thru that “valley of the shadow of death”. Even though we don’t understand His ways, that sovereign God will carry you as well.
