Geneva Louise Younger Akins, 86, passed from this life on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the Izard County Medical Center in Calico Rock, Arkansas. Geneva was born Thursday, February 13, 1936 in Marcella, Arkansas to the late William Cole Younger and Opal (Kirkland) Younger.
In December of 1952 she married the love of her life, Frank Akins.
She worked at Blanchard Shirt Factory for over twenty years. She loved to cook, work in her garden, crochet and piece quilt tops.
Mrs. Akins is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband and brothers, Bobby Joe Younger and Bill Younger, Jr.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, Jerry Akins (Vickie) of Mountain View, Arkansas and sister-in-law, Joan Younger of Pleasant Grove, Arkansas.
A graveside service for Mrs. Akins will be 10 AM Monday, June 20, 2022 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Pleasant Grove, Arkansas. Brother Donald Gene Turner will officiate. Pallbearers will be Casey Turner, Burton Turner, Earin Ray Davis, Donald Ray, Landon Griffith and Leslie Griffith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Turner and Darius Brown.
