Roy Lee Shaw, 92, of Cave City passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2022.
He was born October 5, 1929 in Newark, Arkansas to James William Shaw and Elsie Elizabeth Decker Shaw.
Roy was a member of New Prospect Landmark Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a United States Army veteran, having served in the Korean War, as well as being stationed in Japan. He was a member of the Gainsboro Masonic Lodge #258. Roy was a very plain spoken man, He enjoyed bird hunting and playing baseball, and he was an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks and the St. Louis Cardinals.
Survivors include his son, Rick Shaw (Debbie) of Batesville; three grandsons, Larry Alan Shaw (Helen) of Charlotte, Michael Gene Shaw of Charlotte and James Derrick Shaw (Audra) of Springdale; one granddaughter, Brittney Leigh Hightower (Ben) of Rogers; and seven great-grandchildren, Michael Evan Shaw, Allison Jean Shaw, Logan Gene Shaw, Cooper James Hightower, Aubree Elise Shaw, Savannah Quinn Hightower and Beckham Shaw Hightower; and three sisters, Laura Lucille Shaw Gabris of Plant City, Florida, Margie Fern Shaw McClure of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Ruby June Shaw Smith (Edward) of Newark.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy Shaw; son, Larry Gene Shaw; infant daughter, Carolyn Shaw; brothers, Emmit Shaw, Loyd Shaw, I.J. Shaw, J.E. Shaw and Fred Shaw; sisters, Hellen Wygal, Annie Lewallen and Geneva Long; and three infant sisters, Lois Shaw, Lottie Shaw and Holly Shaw.
Pallbearers are Eddie Emerson, Alan Shaw, Mike Shaw, Derrick Shaw, Evan Shaw, Logan Shaw and Ben Hightower. Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am Saturday, June 4, 2022 at New Prospect Landmark Missionary Baptist Church under the direction of Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville, with Bro. David Benson and Bro. Ben Hightower officiating. Burial will follow at Center Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am Saturday just prior to service at the church.

Sorry to hear of Bro. Roy's passing. We knew that he probably wouldn't wait long to go be with Mrs. Dorothy. They were such a blessing to us when we first got married and lived on the Wildcat Ranch. May God bless and comfort your family during the days ahead.

I worked with Roy Lee several years ago at International Shoe Company. We both loved to bird hunt and each of us had bird dogs. We went on some good hunts together.
