I've known Bill since we were in the 7th or 8th grade at Elaine. He was an excellent athlete and team leader. He had a great memory and I used to really enjoy visiting with him at the reunions. I'll miss him.
Melody. So sorry to hear of the loss of your dad. Praying for peace and comfort for you and your family during this time.
I was so sorry to hear of your Dad’s passing. May you have comfort in the days ahead.
Bill was such a kind, loving man and I'm grateful to have had him in my life. He had a great laugh and sense of humor that were contagious. He was always willing to listen with an open mind and offer unbiased advice full of wisdom.
Bill Duke was my friend and I will miss him so much. He will always live in my heart and memories. I'll think of him when I hear Billy Joel's song, "Keeping the Faith" and remember his smile as he sang it.
My sincerest sympathy to his children and family. May God wrap you in His peace and comfort.
God bless,
Vicki Towles
I worked with Bill Duke at the Corps of Engineers for probably 30 years. He was a Construction Inspector for many years and was a wealth of knowledge and common sense for a young Civil Engineer. When he became Chief over the Huxtable Pumping Station operation it became the “Jewel of Memohis District Corps of Engineersâ€. We worked with him on numerous Contracts to keep the huge station in top condition. He was so much fun to be around also and brightened your day. He was one of those “special people†that are few and far between and make a difference in the quality of life of those around them. May God bless and comfort all those who will be missing him in the days ahead is my prayer.
Jerry Welch, Ret Chief Cost Engineering

Tara & all family members. I am so sorry for your loss. Prays and positive thoughts for all of you.
Bill has been a very long time friend of our family as well as a member of our family for a while. He was such a good guy and so funny. Our family never lost touch with him and when he came back into our lives several years ago it was as if he never left. To Melanie, we are so sorry for your loss. Your daddy sure loves you and was so proud of you too.
