Charles Shirley

of Vilonia, AR

January 30, 1962 - May 1, 2022

Charles ''Charlie'' Shirley, 60, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2022. He was born in Conway, AR on January 30, 1962 to Charles & Maryann Shirley.

Charlie loved and lived for his family. Family was everything to him. He didn't let a day go by without talking to and about his grandkids. He was a proud husband, father, and PawPaw.

He married the love of his life, Tanya, on May 23, 2003. Their love for each other was like no other. They embraced each other everyday and if you saw him you saw her.

Charlie loved his work too. He worked for Antique Brick & Block for the last decade as a truck driver. In total, he drove a truck for over 41 years delivering blocks and bricks all over the State of Arkansas. He didn't care what he drove, because he was doing what he loved, especially working alongside with his wife for many years. He considered his coworkers his friends. No matter what was going on, whether good or bad, home or work, he responded to every situation in the same way: ''It'll be alright.''

Charlie touched so many lives by his support, his love, his life, his kind demeanor - just being himself.

He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Donnie Shirley and Perry Shirley. He is survived by the love of his life of 19 years, his wife Tanya Shirley; three children Kyla Nicole Shirley Burgess, Tabatha Michelle Hart, and Bryan Christopher Mathis; his 5 greatest blessings, his grandchildren Landon Charles Shirley Bennett, Addison Grace Burgess, Jack Allen Burgess, Raelyn Marie Mathis, and Charlotte ''Charley'' Nikole Mathis. He is also survived by 3 siblings Randy, Alan, and Ann.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 5th, 6PM-8PM. Memorial Services are Friday, May 6th at 10AM. Visitation and Services will be at Roller McNutt Funeral Home, Conway, AR.

I was shocked to learn of Charlie’s passing.
It immediately brought back memories of playing with cousins at Uncle Bill’s house. Some of the best times ever! Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.

So sorry to learn of Charlie's passing. When we were all growing up, we always wanted to go to Jack and Mary Ann's because of Charlie and his brothers, Randy, Perry and Alan. And of course, Ann Marie!
Those are memories you never forget. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

No written words will ever ease the pain of losing such an amazing soul, but we are forever sorry for the passing of Charlie. We were only blessed to cross paths with him a handful of times but his warm, gentle spirit shined bright. Your family is in our prayers.

Tanya: So sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. It was always a great joy to see the two of you when I worked at Kroger. I enjoyed talking to you both & Charlie always had a funny comeback to everything. May our Lord wrap his arms around you & give you the peace only He can give. I will keep you in my prayers.

Tanya & Family,

There are absolutely no words to express how incredibly sorry we are for the loss of your beloved husband, father & grandfather. Allen thought the world of him and said he was always a pleasure to deal with when he’d come by Antique to pick something up.

We can’t imagine your pain or the great loss you’re feeling but we hope you can find comfort in knowing that your beloved is with the good Lord. Our continued prayers, support, and love are with you and yours while you try and navigate through life without your loved one.
