Geneva Ann Cavender Lackey, 81, of Quitman, Arkansas, went to her heavenly home on April 20, 2022, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas, surrounded by her family.
She was born, September 20, 1940, to Lawrence and Jessie Bearden Cavender. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joe Cavender and Frank Cavender.
She is survived by her husband of almost 62 years, Lewis Lackey, Sr.; her daughter, Sheila Lackey Hall, and her son, Lewis Howard Lackey, Jr., both of Quitman. Her grandchildren, Jessica Hall Walters and husband, Blake of Dover, Stephen Lackey and wife, Amanda of Sheridan, and Meagan Ideker and husband, Tyler of Missouri; great-grandchildren, Bryson, Payton, and Halle Walters, Elam Lackey, Dylan Archer, Braiden Archer, and Silas Ideker; sister-in-law's, Pat Cavender and Sue Vaughn; two aunts and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
She married the love of her life on April 29, 1960. They loved to travel and were always up for the next great adventure together. She loved her flowers and working in the garden. She was retired from St. Paul Insurance and a member of Quitman Church of Christ. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and loving friend to many. She had a kind heart, was soft spoken and always an encouragement to others.
Services will be at Roller-McNutt in Greenbrier, Arkansas, on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Visitation will be at 10:00am with services following at 11:00am, with Lynn Burford officiating. Pallbearers will be Dan Cavender, Steven Leonard, Mike Lagasse, Chad Wilson, Shane McGhee and Terry Mayers. Interment will be at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Quitman, Arkansas.
O how i loved Geneva, she will be missed by so many. My deepest sympathy for her family and friends.

Geneva was such a good person; she always had a smile and would do what needed to be done to get the work finished. I really enjoyed working with her and keeping up with her after retirement, she made it to a few of the St. Paul get-togethers with Sheila. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her and her family will need prayer during this time.
