James L. Irwin aged 50 left this life on February 7, 2022 at his home in Pyatt Arkansas. He was born in Walton, NY and raised in Hamden. He was a US Navy combat veteran having served his country during Operation Enduring Freedom and 2 tours in Afghanistan.
After retiring from the Navy Jim was fulfilling his dream of living simply, off the grid, at one with the environment. His fierce independence and resourcefulness with an entrepreneurial spirit were always tempered by his desire to help those around him in his community.
James is survived by his father, David R. Irwin (Alexandrina), West Oneonta, NY, his mother Carol J. Irwin, Inverness, FL, a brother, Kenneth D. Irwin (Lynda ''Lori''), Inverness, FL, a sister, Arlene L. Sayman, Chesapeake, VA. James is also survived by uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and a nephew.
Military graveside services at the Bushnell, Florida Veterans Cemetery will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Veterans Outreach Program, P.O. Box 401, Salem, AR 72539.
Arrangements are by Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville.
