Marceleen Best

September 16, 1928 - February 21, 2022

On Monday, February 21, 2022, Marceleen Best (affectionately referred to by many as Marcy) was joyfully reunited with her beloved parents William Capers Best Jr. and Mary Ellen Hales Best along with her sisters Beverly (Gus) Remmel, Jacquelyn (Bob) Phillips, and Evangelyn Sallee.

Marceleen was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, grew up in Overland, Missouri, and later lived in Crestwood, Missouri. She enjoyed traveling and moved to several other cities during her adult working life in Christian ministry.

Marceleen treasured her family and cared for two of her sisters near the end of their lives. She was an aunt to seven, a great aunt to thirteen and a great-great aunt to twenty.

Maumelle, Arkansas was a community she loved and lived in for nineteen years. She also loved all of her friends at Audubon Pointe Apartments and the Keith Lloyd Family of Maumelle who was a great help to her in many ways.

Marceleen is at home at last and resting in the arms of Jesus Christ her Lord and Savior.

Interment is at 2pm on Wednesday, February 23, 2022 at Riverwood Memorial Gardens, Peace and Hope, in Maumelle, Arkansas.

So grateful to have been in Maumelle at the time of your passing and to have seen you one last time. Over joyed to have all your earthly possessions donated to the Little Rock Compassion Center. It brings me great joy to know your things will benefit the homeless population in Little Rock.

Thankful for all the family history work you have done over the years and glad to be able to pass it along to my children and generations yet to come.

I can only imagine what a joyful reunion you have had with your parents and sisters ... just in time to celebrate Mom's 96th birthday.

I knew Marcy when we both attended Grace Church. She was involved in many things and interesting to talk too. I know she is with her Heavenly Father.
