Virginia Lee Wilson, 90, of Jacksonville, passed away February 10, 2022.
She was born March 23, 1931, in West Monroe, Louisiana, to W.H. and Birdie Smith. She was preceded in death by parents, husband Gene Wilson, infant son David Wilson, and brothers, James Smith, and Billy Smith.
Mrs. Wilson was a retired schoolteacher and professional cake decorator.
She is survived by her daughters, Jenny Wilson of Jacksonville, and Beverly (Kenny) Newsom of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Zachery Newsom of Orlando, Florida, and Delanie Newsom of Jacksonville; brother Raymond (Neva) Smith; and sisters, Bettye Spradlin of North Little Rock, and Cindy Smith of Windber, Pennsylvania.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 15, at 10:00 a.m., at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 JFK Blvd, North Little Rock. A visitation will follow services.
Interment will be Wednesday, February 23, at noon at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jacksonville Friends of the Animals.

I remember Mrs. Virginia from my childhood and I loved visiting her and playing with her black poodle. I was and still a lover of all animals and one day Mrs. Virginia gave me her sweet poodle and he was my sidekick for many many years. Jenny, please know I am praying for you and your family.
