of Chimes, AR

September 6, 1925 - February 2, 2022


Alma Ruth Myrick, age 96 of Chimes, Arkansas died on Wednesday, February 2nd, 2022 at her daughter's home in Witts Springs, Arkansas. She was born in Alfalfa, Oklahoma on September 6th, 1925 to David Jefferson Robertson and Ophelia Emeline Bradley Robertson. Alma married Dorsie Garland Myrick on April 4th, 1942. They had four children, Geneva, Wendell, Glenda, and Lavonne.

Alma grew up in Welcome Home, Arkansas. Every fall her family would go to Missouri to work for extra income for the large family. She was saved at the age of thirteen at a revival in Welcome Home, Arkansas and began directing choir at the same age. She loved going to church, leading singing and praising God. Alma was of the Pentecostal faith. She attended school until eighth grade and was not able to go to high school, so she went through the eighth grade again. After she married, Alma worked as a farmer's wife, farmer, post mistress and storekeeper. She was loved by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sister, several nieces, nephews, and a host of friends who will miss her greatly.

She is survived by her daughters, Glenda Hendrix and husband Earl Wayne of Witt Springs and Lavonne Estlinbaum and husband Paul of Chimes; five grandchildren, Eric Hendrix and wife Phyliss of Scottsville, Ricky Hendrix and wife Deshea of Dover, Shane Hendrix and wife Marissa of Dardanelle, Tripp Estlinbaum and wife Jamie of Conway and Mindy Brashear and husband Charles of Hector; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one sister, Bertha Mae Warren of Hector.

Alma is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dorsie who passed away in 1991; one daughter, Geneva; one son, Wendell; one grandson, Chip Evan; seven sisters; and four brothers.

Funeral services for Alma will be 12:00 PM Tuesday, February 8th, 2022 at Archey Valley Church in Chimes, Arkansas with Bro. Larry Don Smith and Bro. Tripp Estlinbaum officiating. Special music will be performed by her family and Sis. Judy Smith. Bearers will be Eric Hendrix, Ricky Hendrix, Shane Hendrix, Tripp Estlinbaum, Braxton Hendrix, Jacob Hendrix, Evan Estlinbaum, Charles Brashear, Tyler Brashear and Nathan Osburn. Honorary bearers will be Mindy Brashear, Mackenzie Hendrix, Shelby Hendrix, Emma Hendrix, Hannah Osburn, Ava Estlinbaum, Kylie Brashear, Grace Anderson, Brooklyn Johnson and Morgan Brashear. Burial will be in Archey Valley Cemetery where Alma will be laid to rest beside her husband, Dorsie.

So sorry to her about Alma passing away she was a very sweet lady I always enjoyed coming to Chimes on Thanksgiving her momma always had a good time visiting! Heaven just gained another angel praying for y’all during these time!

Mrs. Alma was a good friend & neighbor that I have knowing for at least 30 years and was a fine Christian and will be missed not only by her family but by the community as well. My condolence to the family and to all that knew her. I rejoice that she has made it to her heavenly home and is singing in the choir.
