Joan Hopkins passed away peacefully on January 28, 2022 in the arms and hearts of her loving family. She was born on March 5, 1934 in Benton, AR and was 87 years old. Joan is survived by two daughters, Tracie (Beau) Lindley and Tricia (Rudy) Vasquez of Corpus Christi, TX, and son, David (Krista) Hopkins of Benton; first cousin Patsy Percy of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Melissa Knippa of McEwen, TN, Martin Diegel of Corpus Christi, TX, and Griffin Hopkins of Benton; three great grandchildren, Annabelle Knippa of McEwen, TN and Colton and Cason Diegel of Corpus Christi, TX; as well as her honorary daughter, Danielle Browning of Benton.
Joan is preceded in death by her beloved husband, David V. Hopkins of 69 years, her parents, Beecher and Willie (Bill) Davenport, and her sister, Mary Beth Herlein.
Joan enjoyed working with her mother for many years at Bill's Flower Shop and traveling all over the world with her beloved David. Her children and grandchildren were her life. We will miss her so very much.
A private ceremony will be held on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Pinecrest Cemetery in Alexander, AR. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church, 4823 Woodlawn Dr., Little Rock, AR 72205.
A very special thanks to Glenda Dilbeck and Sherry Jackson who were her caregivers. They loved and cared for her like family.
Joan Hopkins was my mother, my best friend, my soulmate. She was the most beautiful woman inside and out with a voice of an angel. How I miss her every minute of every day. I know she and daddy are having a wonderful reunion. I know we will all be together one of these days.
Joann was a dear friend.We had such fun playing tennis in the summer at Trace Creek CC.She was fun,smart and caring.
I just want to tell you all how much I loved both your mom and dad they were such a joy to spend time with and I alway had fun when I was with them. They were perfect together it to bad that every marriage is not as sweet and loving as theirs was they leave you with a wonderful legacy and I know you will cherish every memory you will have of them . Our Reynolds Metals family continues to shrink but their memories continue and we honor their lives.
