James Daniel Shrum, 40, of Magazine, Arkansas passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2021 in Magazine. He was born on September 17, 1981 in Fort Smith, Arkansas to his parents, James Shrum and Carol (Waldron) Redmon.
James worked for Redmond Construction and in the oilfield for many years and enjoyed working on his truck, fishing, cooking for his family and friends and being in the outdoors.
He is survived by one daughter, Kiera Shrum of Booneville; one son, Brody Shrum of Booneville; his companion, Lisa Hopkins of Magazine; his mother, Carol Redmon of Ozark; his father, James Shrum and wife Charlene of Booneville; two sisters, Christy Townsend of Van Buren and Carrie Shrum of Booneville; four brothers, Joey Shrum of Muldrow, Danny Settle of Chismville, Charlie Settle of Waldron and Joseph Waldron and his beloved dog, Cinch.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at Hopewell Cemetery in Booneville officiated by Lloyd Scott under the direction of Roller Funeral Home in Paris.
Pallbearers will be Danny Settle, Charlie Settle, Tommy Buckner, Shawn Beckett, Timmy Krigbaum and Josh Redmond.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Willie Baumgartner and David Lee Cole.

Anyone who knew James and ever saw him, never seen him without that smile on his face. I’ve know him since he was young, he was great friend to many, and especially to my Tommy, I’ll miss him as well as anyone who knew him.
