Alvie Underwood, age 90, of Everton, Arkansas passed away Tuesday December 28, 2021 at his home.
Alvie was born January 31, 1931 in Pyatt, Arkansas to the late Clint and Faye (Richardson) Underwood. A lifetime resident of the area, he was a United States Army veteran of Korea. He was an avid fox hunter, and he loved the outdoors. He attended Sugar Orchard School until he transferred to Pyatt to play ball. He is remembered as a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Mr. Underwood is survived by his wife Jonny Sue of the home; two sons: Benny Underwood (Deborah) of Flippin, James Underwood (Karrie) of Pyatt, and his daughter Mari Underwood (Eric Russell) of Willard, Missouri; his sister Wanda L. Hampton of Tri-Cities, Washington; eight grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Wanda M. Hampton, and his brother Allen Underwood.
Visitation will be 1:00 - 3:00 pm, Sunday January 2, 2022 at Roller-Burns Funeral Home in Yellville.
Funeral service will follow at 3:00 pm at Roller-Burns Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Brent Fisk officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald McLean, Joe Baker, Glen Davenport, Joe Cantwell, Fred Burrow, and Wes Ramsey.

Sue, Wanda and family, I'm so sorry to hear the sad news. I always think of Alvie as a young man as I was growing up, and I always think of Sue and Alvie as such a beautiful couple. As you know our Stanley and Underwood families go back to mid 1800s when they came to this county. Daddy thought the world of Alvie and all the Underwood family.
