Nella Mae (Huckabee) Horton, age 85, of Marshall passed away peacefully at Highland Court in Marshall on December 16, 2021. She was born August 17, 1936 in Leslie, Arkansas to Raymond and Reba (Richardson) Huckabee. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dorsey L. Horton; and her sons Larry Don Horton and Jimmy Dorsey Horton.
Nella was a lifelong resident of Marshall working at Flint Rock Shirt Factory until she returned to school and received her LPN license and worked for many years at Boston Mountain Clinic. Nella's biggest joy was her family. She loved cooking, quilting, scrap-booking, flower gardening, family get togethers, and spending time with her grandchildren. Nella attended Landmark Baptist Church in Marshall. She loved her church family and spent many hours studying the Bible.
She is survived by her daughter Vickie (Don) Watts of Harrison; daughters-in-law: Lisa Horton of Jonesboro and Linda Horton of Harrison; sisters: Barbara (Junior) Padilla of Marshall and Karen (James) Mize of Belton, Missouri; granddaughters: Jennifer (Thom) Embach of Mountain Home, Emily Horton of Harrison and Dackari Davis of Harrison; grandsons: Jared (Tracy) Horton of Harrison, John Horton (Lindsey) of Plano, TX and Tray (Elaine) Horton of Austin, TX; great grandchildren: Will (Kori) Leimberg, Georgia Harness, Marshall Horton, Ledger Horton, Braydon, Payton and Keyton Carnahan; great-great grandchildren: Caleb and Hadley Leimberg; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Nella will be 1:00 PM Monday, December 20th, 2021 at Marshall Memorial Gardens in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. James Mize officiating.
Visitation will be 11:00 until 12:00 PM Monday preceding the service and will be held at Roller-Coffman Chapel in Marshall, Arkansas. Bearers will be Jared Horton, John Horton, Tray Horton, Junior Padilla, Don Watts and Will Leimberg. Interment at Marshall Memorial Gardens will follow the graveside service. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the employees and friends at Highland Court.
