Lucille Nora (Owens) Childress, 93 years young, born June 21, 1928 in Alabama, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021.
She was a devout Christian and a member of the Earthen Vessels Worship Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Annie Griffin, husbands, Wheeler Owens and Doyle Childress, son Michael, daughter-in-law Thea, grandson David, and 12 siblings.
Lucille is survived by her sons, Wayne, James (Debbie), Charles (Roselle), sister Betty Chase, 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild due next year.
Visitation is Friday from 5:00-7:00 P.M. and her funeral on Saturday at 2:00 P.M., both at Roller- Alcoa Funeral Home, 6700 Alcoa Rd, Benton.
Pastor Elizabeth Witt will be officiating.
Lucille will be laid to rest at Rosemont Cemetery on Military Road, Benton.
I will always remember our time spent reminiscing and laughing. Your quick wit and beautiful smile could always brighten my day. Prayers for James and family.
I’ll never forget the memories we made. I will miss you dearly. You will forever have a place in my heart. Rip sweet lady.
She was one of a kind always could make me smile even when things were difficult at times but she always had a smile and loved to talk she will be missed RIP Mrs.Lucille ,prayers for the family

I can hear you telling me now “you girls sure are gonna miss me when I’m gone†Yes Lucy, I sure do. I remember starting to work at CP almost 3 years ago now thinking, man, that lady sure is a drama Queen lol and then you quickly becoming my number 1. You will always be my number one. You were truly one of a kind. I love you and miss you. I pray for peace and comfort for all that knew her.

So sorry for the death of Ms Lucille! My family the Curtis’ lived in the community close to the Owens where everyone knew each other! Ms Lucille was a very pleasant lady as was her sister Frances Goodwin! Prayers to her family in this time of their sorrow! God Bless you All!
