Patsy Ruth Johnson, age 80, of Flippin, Arkansas passed away Wednesday November 17, 2021 at her home.
Patsy Johnson's life was Active, with a capital A! She loved being on the go with activities like golf, pickleball, mahjong, bowling, and planning activities with family and friends. She loved to cook dinners for those she loved and was always looking to find ways to help those in need.
She volunteered her time throughout her life with groups such as Flippin Christian Church, Flippin Pride Team, Hospice, Salvation Army, American Cancer Society, Relay for Life, Red Hat Ladies, her beloved widow's group, and Flippin Cemetery Board.
She was born November 6, 1941, to Frank and Ruth Carrico. She was the second of what would become four sisters. Her life was spent with her parents and her sisters, Frances, Linda, and Sharlyn. She enjoyed a close, happy childhood. She loved life in Arkansas, but also loved to travel throughout the world. She found great joy when she was able to experience places that she had only seen on television or read about in books.
Patsy married her childhood sweetheart, and the love of her life, Hal Johnson, on June 14, 1959. There were a wonderful team and enjoyed golf, sports, and just being together. Their long marriage was an inspiration to their family and others.
She and Hal had three children, Jan, Mark, Jennifer. They had five grandchildren, Matthew, Erin, Taylor, Hallie, and Adam and four great grands, Marley, Abe, Grant and Blake. They devoted their life to raising their family and instilled a love of God and caring for others, as primary focus of life.
Patsy was an encourager, motivator, and stayed in constant contact with her children, her grandchildren, and her family and friends. She was a beloved Mom, Nana, and friend. She will forever be an inspiration to us all as we marvel at her energy, interests, and love of people and life.
Patsy is survived by her children: Jan (Stan) Kucala of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Mark Johnson of Cotter, Arkansas; Jennifer (David) Scharf of Collierville, Tennessee; grandchildren Matthew (Kerry) Kucala, Erin (Clayton) Andrews, Taylor Scharf, Hallie Scharf, Adam Scharf; four great grandchildren; her sister Sharlyn Lechtenberger of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and several beloved nieces and nephews.

I just learned of Patsy passing. She was always so strong and confident! I really appreciate how she kept up with my parents Elizabeth and Quinby Smith. She was a real pleasure to know and I will miss her.
Patsy and I started first grade together and graduated from high school together. She accomplished much in her lifetime. I am glad I knew her.
Patsy was such a pleasant strong woman. She loved talking about family. She was a shining Light at Flippin Christian.
We have kept up with her cancer battle thru the years after we moved back to Florida to be near our oldest daughter, hubby and grands and greats.
To God be the GLORY
Well Done Good and Faithful Servant You have received your final reward. Eternity with your loving Savior. May God comfort those you left behind.
We have known and appreciated Hal and Patsy all our lives! From getting a flat fixed at Hal's corner service station to buying a car from J&P Auto, they were "fixtures" in the Flippin community. We knew them best through their involvement and service with Flippin Christian Church. Thank you for your support and encouragement of our ministry. May you join Hal and "go rest high on that mountain, your work on earth is done."
