Yuet On Fung (Joe) passed away on November 5, 2021 in the comfort of his home in Marianna, AR. Yuet was born in Hong Kong on February 7, 1927. He was preceded in death by his three sisters, Mei Yuk Tang, Lai Ha Fung, and Gee Oi Young. Yuet was married to Chun Mui Fung for 63 years until her passing in 2017. Yuet and Chun had 8 children together with the oldest, Ngan Jan Fung and the youngest, Pak Shiu Fung, preceding him in death. He is survived by 6 sons, Jack Fung and his wife Ivy; Pak Kau Fung; Kuen Fung and his wife Karen, and their two children, Michael Fung and his wife Vivian, and Cathryn; Sam Fung and his wife Susan Farley, and their two children, Max Krueger and Farrah Fung; Pete Fung and his wife Elisabeth, and their four children, Jordan, Jacob, Devrah and Caleb; and Pak Foo and his wife Asia, and their two children, Kayson Bell and Beckett Fung. Yuet and Chun immigrated to Arkansas from Hong Kong in 1966 in search of opportunity. They settled in Marianna and Yuet started his career as a butcher at U-Save Supermarket. They eventually purchased their own grocery business in 1968 and operated the store (Fong's Market) until his retirement in 2013. His love of fishing would bring enjoyment to his life. Mr. Fung was an avid Razorbacks fan who would not miss a game either watching on TV or listening to the radio. In addition, Mr. Fung was an excellent Mah jong player. A tireless worker, Mr. Fung and his wife put six sons through college. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, November 13, 2021 at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna, Arkansas. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services also at Roller-Citizens Funeral home. Burial will follow services at Marianna Memorial Park. Mr. Fung left a wonderful legacy in his children. All of the boys are exceptional human beings. And, although the boys would disagree, I’m sure that Mr. Fung could out fish them all. Mariana, our State and the US have been blessed as a result of the Fungs immigrating. He is a man to be honored.

Mr. Fung was a an inspiration and outstanding person who opened his doors to everyone. Wonderful man who raised a wonderful sons, several of which I am blessed to call friend. We'll miss you Dad. Absolutely the hardest working and most tenacious person I know. A hero to many, you have a resolve to accomplish your goals like no one else. Your work ethic is second to none. Your determination is matchless. And you have been a great inspiration to many who knows you.
You took a situation where you were given very little and your choice was to become a statistic or build a foundation for your family. Your choice to move to a new country not only created an incredible legacy but it forged a foundation vital to the success of future family generations that will be Christ-centered.
