Johnny Dean Davidson was born October 18, 1951 in El Paso, Texas to Rex and Ruby Heigle Davidson. Johnny was the second child of three. The first being Ricky and the youngest being their sister Sarah (Hamilton) which completed their family. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother Ricky Davidson.
Being an army brat, he was privileged to travel the world with his family. He went to Germany and several areas of the United States until his father's retirement from the service in the 1968 when they settled in Heber Springs, Arkansas. In 1971, he met his future wife, Carla Roberson. They had to wait three long years until her graduation before they could marry. The couple moved to Conway, Arkansas in June of 1974 where they spent their married life and raised four amazing children, Elizabeth, Jacob, Jared and Jubal. And was a loving grandfather to six grandchildren, Allison, Justin and Trevor from son Jared and daughter-in-law Jackie (Close) Davidson and Dylan, Adalynn and Amelia from son, Jubal Davidson.
Johnny was a very outgoing person who made friends easily, everywhere he went. He was always looking for the best in people and usually found it, even when no one else could. His only regret in life was he was unable to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout due to the frequent moving. However, he did receive many scouting awards including several he was very proud of such as the Silver Beaver, the District Award of Merit, Commissioner's Key, Scouter's Trainer Award, the On My Honor- Adult Religious Award and Vigil Honor Member of the Order of the Arrow. He spent over 40 years as an adult scouter, teaching and helping other scouts achieve their goals.
He lived a full life and touched many people. He was always ready to help someone in need. He would frequently stop to help change a tire, give someone a lift or buy a meal for someone hungry.
If all people were like Johnny, we would be living in paradise on earth.
A memorial service will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 7pm. All are welcome. However, if you are unable to attend, another service will be held at an unknown date to spread his ashes and will be made known well in advance.

Hey guys. I'm so sorry to hear about Johnny's passing. You are in my thoughts and prayers. May out Heavenly Father comfort your hearts and bless you with peace of mind in his passing.
Always remember Johnny is just a thought away.
I was able to watch the service on Zoom and it was wonderful. Love you guys.

So sad to hear of the passing of Brother Davidson. What a great guy! He truly was a servant of the Lord in his service to others. I will remember him for his Dutch oven baking skills, among others. Prayers for Carla and The family.

Johnny Davidson will truly be missed. He was so giving with his time, knowledge, and talents. He and Carla were wonderful help with Girls Camp and all my brothers and my sons were helped by him in the scouting program. He was a kind person. He always made me feel like he cared about my life as I was growing up and into adulthood. I’m praying for you Carla and for your children. May God bring peace to your hearts.

I have known Johnny Davidson for about fifty years. My wife and I had three sons who became eagle scouts and Johnny was instrumental in all three of these. Thank you Johnny. He always had a disarming smile that was worn as a part of his uniform. If he had a mean streak I never saw it and never heard anyone reveal one. He was well respected by those who knew him best.
Another memory: Many years ago Johnny took training in small engine repair and opened a business. He came to my house and picked up a large and heavy garden tiller that needed repairs. Later in the week he returned the machine to our house and it ran as well as a new engine. He told me that he had done a complete overhaul with new parts. I was surprised that he had done all the extra repair. When he handed me the invoice, it was for a fraction of what it should have been and I knew it. I fussed at him and tried to make up for the difference with a nice tip and he refused to accept my tip. I felt so guilty and he left me smiling.
Pat and I enjoyed serving with Johnny in the Scouting program and knowing Carla and their wonderful children.
May the Great God in Heaven bless him in his transition and relocation and bless and sustain his good family with comfort and the needful things of life.
