John Paul Harper, 73, of Wooster, Arkansas, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at his home. Mr. Harper was born Sunday, December 28, 1947 in Heber Springs, Arkansas, to the late Johnnie Doyle Harper and Janie Pauline Lowrence Harper.
John served our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and served in the Air National Guard for thirty-three years. Mr. Harper worked as a Wildlife Officer for the Arkansas Department of Game and Fish for thirty-one years, a career he loved. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Wooster, Arkansas. John loved hunting, fishing, camping, taking trips to Colorado panning for gold, and spending time with grandchildren.
Left to cherish his memory are; his loving wife of fifty-one years, Linda Diane Harper; son, Clint Lane Harper (Jennifer) of Wooster, Arkansas; three daughters, Paula Diane Masters-Stacks of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Jill Ann Tedford (Lee) of Conway, Arkansas, Kim Lynn Burgin (Jay) of Greenbrier, Arkansas; eight grandchildren, Kelsie Masters, Ashton Harper, Hudson Harper, Aspen Lynbarger, Carter Tedford, Knox Burgin, Bentley Tedford, John Dawson Burgin; brother, James Harper (Judy) of Conway, Arkansas; sister, Janelle Helbling (Michael) of Panama City, Florida and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services for Mr. Harper will be Tuesday, October 26, 2021, at First Baptist Church of Wooster, Arkansas, at 11am. Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will follow at Republican Cemetery in Greenbrier, Arkansas. Brother Keith Hicks will officiate. Pallbearers will be Lee Tedford, Jay Burgin, Brad Harper, Ronnie Harper, Justin Harper, and Jared Kersey. Honorary pallbearers will be; Steve Crump, Hoot Gibson, Gary Wallace, and Junior Kersey.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Wooster, Arkansas

John was one of my best friends in High School, and he always presented himself as a fine Christian man. He will be greatly missed. Praying for his family. Isaiah 57:1-2

John was great to work with. Always available, always helpful. A credit to Fish and Game and Law Enforcement. I know with his passing there’s a void. I will be paying for his family. God Bless them in this difficult time.

So sad to hear of John's passing. I have such fond memories of him when, as a kid, I would spend time with Aunt Pauline and Uncle JD. May his memory always be a blessing. Love and condolences to his family during this difficult time.
