Gary & I went to the First Christian Church in two different towns. We met when we had Church conventions, way back in the 60's. We share the same birthday but I am 5 yrs. older.
Gary & i played together at The Hitchin Post on Kearney in Spfld.
He is a great player, that can play any music form precisely & authentically.
He always had a smile & a great attitude. If he ever had a bad day, no one ever knew it.
He is an example of what a great musician should be, kind, approachable, & the same yesterday & today, & we will see him again. His name was written in the Palm of God's Hand.
Love ya' Gary! - Al Scott

So sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. Did not know him personally, but thoroughly enjoyed his guitar playing in Mickey Gilley’s band. My friend and I have headed to Branson twice a year for more years than I can remember and always saw the show when it was available.
Deepest sympathies to his wife and family… I bet Gary’s up in heaven jamming with Joey Riley!
God bless.
Gary was a mentor and a great friend. I always looked forward to seeing him, and was grateful to have worked with him at two very exciting times in my life! He will be extremely missed. Prayers for all his friends and family. ♥ï¸
Gary and I started playing guitar about the same time, and were very good friends. I am primarily a vocalist so we had many great times together. Condolences to Janice and the family.
I had the fortunate pleasure to remember Gary when he first began playing. I spent many evenings at his and my home when our parents would play Rook. I stayed with them a couple of days when my sister was born, as there were complications. Gary was kind and generous of his time. He will be missed. My thoughts are with Janice and his children at this difficult time.

So sorry for your loss. I remember well when Gary started playing the guitar. I was with him. I spent many happy hours at Bonnie and Virgil’s home playing music with Gary. It was apparent early on that he was destined to be a musician as his life’s work. He worked hard and learning his trade and was very gifted. I was blessed to have been a friend of his.
