Ellen Green Close, age 84, of Yellville, Arkansas passed away Tuesday July 6, 2021 in Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Ellen was born January 2, 1937 in Springville, New York to the late Artemus and Dora (Smith) Green. She was a homemaker. She had lived in the area for the past 25 years, coming here from Florida. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She loved flowers and gardening as her health permitted. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Mrs. Close is survived by her daughters: Jan Godat and Kim Croney, both of Yellville; her sisters: Rose Robbins of Arcade, New York; Doris Heintz of Coldin, New York; Florence Green of Bliss, New York; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles Edward Close, four sons: Arthur, Edward, Charles, and George Close; four brothers Edwin, Donald, Arthur, and Emmitt Green, and her sister Mae Francis.
A memorial service will be held by the family 10:00 am Saturday July 10, 2021 at New Hope Baptist Church near Yellville, with Bro. Jack Jefferson officiating.
Arrangements are by Roller-Burns Funeral Home.
