Roy Day Callaway, 85, of Marianna, Arkansas passed away peacefully, at home, Friday, November 13, 2020. He was born January 16, 1935 in Moro, Arkansas to Leroy and Jennie Lee Callaway. He is survived by his wife, Dottie, of 62 years, one son, Todd Callaway (Dana) of Hamburg, Arkansas, one daughter Leigh Ann Hinkle (Billy Don) of Moro, Arkansas, two grandchildren, Conner Callaway and Kelbe Callaway and a host of nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one infant grandson Colby Callaway.
He loved his church family and was a dedicated member of the First Christian Church of Marianna. He respected the flag and what it stands for and was honored to have served his country in the Army National Guard from 1953 to 1959. He was a member of the Paul Benham, Jr., Post number 5, American Legion and was also a 32nd degree Mason.
He was an avid collector and spent many hours looking for arrowheads and civil war artifacts. He enjoyed carving walking sticks, by hand, from various kinds of wood he found during his time outdoors. He developed a love for hunting and the outdoors early on with his Dad, and in later years, with his son, grandchildren, and friends. He also loved traveling and was able to enjoy many trips with his family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to First Christian Church of Marianna or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro, Arkansas, Brother Max E. Goins officiating.

Mrs Dottie ,Todd and Leigh Ann, and families, I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Mr. Roy from telephone office and growing up. He was always so cheerful. I remember him coming into my daddys store and talking to us. We will all miss him. May God hold him till we see him again.
