Billy W. PoundsI am a Veteran.

of Texarkana, AR

June 9, 1936 - February 17, 2020

Billy W. Pounds was born on June 9th, 1936 and passed away peacefully on February 17th, 2020 at the age of 83 at his home in Texarkana, Arkansas. Billy was born to Joe and Gertrude Pounds in Steele, Missouri, and later lived and graduated high school in Aubrey, Arkansas. Billy met the love of his life, Jessie Cullum, in Marianna, Arkansas, and the two were married on August 22nd, 1958. Jessie and Billy raised three sons together and were married for 61 years.
In his early career, Billy worked in the finger printing department for the Federal Bureau of Investigations in Washington D.C. After this, he co-owned the Shell station in Marianna, Arkansas, with John Ed Williams. Finally, Billy owned a widely successful AG Products company for 30 years which he loved along with his many customers and friends. Jessie and Billy later moved to Texarkana, Arkansas, where they retired, and Billy lived the remainder of his life spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-granddaughter.
Billy was a well-respected, Christian man who loved the Lord with all of his heart. Classic cars were Billy's hobby, his favorite being the T-Bird; he loved the St. Louis Cardinals, his two dogs, Sophie and Sadie; and daily trips to Cleo's in Marianna, Arkansas, for his coffee breaks and visiting with his closest friends. Billy always had a good joke handy and could always be counted on for a laugh.
Billy is survived by his wife, Jessie Pounds of Texarkana, AR; his sons, Randy Pounds of Texarkana, TX; Lance Pounds and wife Landers of Memphis, TN; Jason Pounds and wife Amy of Texarkana, TX; six grandchildren, Rachel Duren and husband Shon; Josh Pounds; Taylor Pounds and wife Amber; Trevor Pounds; Jordan Pounds; Tanner Pounds; one great-granddaughter, Avery Duren; and his brother, Larry Pounds. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Gertrude Pounds; brother, Bobby Joe Pounds; and his two baby sisters.
