My deepest sympathy to Larry's family and friends. I met Larry in 1956 when I first attended Central HS in Helena-West Helena. I always knew him to be quiet; but, when he spoke, everyone listened. We were classmates, until we both became members of the Class of '59. I never saw Larry after that, since I joined the Air Force and never moved back to the area. The Class of '59 have expressed their sympathy.
I’ve known and been good friends with “Big Larry†longer than just about anyone else at East Lake. Larry was a genuine outdoorsman, and both of us loved to hunt and fish. Many times, he and I would be the only ones at the lake and would watch out for each other. We’ve shared many meals together and enjoyed sitting around a fire on many occasions and talking about any subject that would pop up. The world has lost a great man, I’ve lost a great friend, and he will be missed. I pray that God will wrap his loving arms around his family and protect them in this time of sorrow.
