Murray Shamble Jr., 67, of Marianna, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 in Memphis, Tennessee. He was born on Tuesday, July 28, 1951 to the late Murray Shamble Sr. and Earnestine (Bohannon) Shamble in East St Louis, IL.
Murray joined and proudly served in the United States Army for 7 years during which time he was recognized and awarded many commendations. He then continued his work for the government working for the Internal Revenue Service and for the Social Security Administration. During this time, he earned an associate degree in Computer Science from Dekalb College, Atlanta, GA. After retiring from the SSA, he moved to Mariana, AR where he lived for the past 7 years.
He is survived by his ex-wife, Gwendolyn (Johnson) Shamble of Stone Mountain, GA; four sons, Murray (Raquel) Shamble III of Crown Point, IN, Marquie (Adrianna) Shamble of Hammond, IN, Darnale (Keli) Shamble of Hammond, IN, and Eric Shamble of Indianapolis, IN; three daughters; Myckol Shamble of Hammond, IN, Jenae' Blair of Stone Mountain, GA, and Millicent Shamble of Stone Mountain, GA; and seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He also leaves to cherish his memories four brothers, Henry Rice of California; Darryl (Iris) Shamble of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Donald Shamble of Belleville, Illinois; Lutalo Olutosin of Altanta, Georgia and two sisters, Kathleen Chandler Shamble, of East St. Louis, Illinois, Pamela Shamble of East St. Louis, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, ex-wife Beatrice Emery Winbush, one daughter, Marcy Shamble Abrams, two sisters, Eileen Mitchell, Janet Neal, and two brothers, Lucien Leonard and Derrick Shamble.
Services for Mr. Shamble will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Roller-Citizens Funeral Home in Marianna, Arkansas.
