of Bartlett, TN
August 14, 1936 - November 28, 2018
Lillian "Pinky" Irene Perk, n'ee Norris, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at her home in Bartlett, Tennessee. She was 82. A native of Cobb Island, Maryland she grew up on the Potomac River and married a Cajun, Anicet (AJ) Perk, who had relocated to Maryland to work for the US Navy. She and AJ were married for 53 years and had one son, Kevin. She moved to Bartlett to be close to her son and daughter-in-law who reside in Memphis. She was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker, loved crab cakes, flower beds and making sumptuous desserts. She will be remembered for her firm but loving nudging, her coconut cake and for telling AJ to "get that damn dog out of here!"
She is survived by her husband, Anicet Joseph (AJ) Perk, her son Kevin Perk (wife Terron Perk) and one sister, Jean Carder. She was preceded in death by her father Andrew Norris, her mother, Lillian Norris-Sterbanis, her step-father Steve Strebanis, her brother Robert (Bobby) Norris and her sisters Ann Oliver and Mary Hill.
Kevin-
Oakie and I are thinking of you and Terron. I was so sorry to hear about your lose. I remember well when I met your mother. It was at the airport when you and Barry flew to Europe for your tour of Europe. She had a strong love for her son as only a mother can have. I hope to see you soon and I send prayers to you and Terron that your healing grief will be gentle.
Much love-
Oakie and Eunice Bishop
My heart hurts for your lose. It's never easy to say goodbye to someone. One thing Pinky perfected was being Kevin's mother. A good man now passes along the strengths of his loving mother.
AJ, Kevin, and Terron. My heart is heavy after hearing this sad news of Pinky’s passing. She was strict but fair. Stern and kind. Loving and funny. I have many fond memories of my childhood with Kevin. Pinky helped keep us straight when we needed the nudges. I pray for each of you during this time of sadness.
Respectfully,
Jack Brown
Dear AJ and family - I am so truly sorry for your loss. May the fond memories you have of Pinky help this difficult time a little easier.
Love,
Margaret
