Walter Laurens Vesey, III, 89, of Bartlett TN, passed away on May 28, 2018. He was born on April 15, 1929 to Walter Vesey, Jr. and Stella Young Vesey, in Memphis TN. Laurens is survived by his loving wife Peggy Pass Vesey, and June 7th would have marked their 67th anniversary. Other survivors include his 2 sons, Michael Vesey, and Alan Vesey (Natalie); his 4 grandchildren, Melody Gaylord (JJ), Maggie Vesey, Joseph Vesey, and Jennifer Vesey; his 2 great-grandchildren, Sydney and Lauren Gaylord.
Laurens was a graduate of Messick High School and Memphis State College in 1951, PI Kappa Alpha. He served honorably in the US Army, as an Intelligence Specialist, in the Counter Intelligence Corps, was also a VP Finance and partner in Hagan Manufacturing and Roco Inc., and served faithfully on the financial board, of Christ Church of Bartlett. Laurens will be remembered for his kind generous spirit, his quick wit, and his love of animals.
