Gary Wayne Duett, 63, of Cordova, TN, passed away on July 21, 2017. He leaves his wife, Dee Duett; one sister, Brenda (Dennis) McDonald; and four daughters and their spouses, Mindy (Travis) Pruitt, Amber (Jeff) Shackelford, Amy (Bradley) Dance, and Evelyn (Joshua) Bussenger; six step children- Michael (Valerie) Bingham, George (Kate) Grady, Jennifer (Ted) Dusenberry, David Berner, Joy Berner, Leigh (David) Beisner. Eleven Grandchildren; Alyssa and Leila Pruitt; Emma, Caleb, Daylen, and Tyler Shackelford; Lauren, Nolen, and Kiefer Peixotto and Crixus Dance; Evelyn Claire Bussenger; eleven step grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was born in Memphis, TN on June 26, 1954 and led an amazingly, adventurous life - Including traveling around the world. He lived and worked in Lagos, Nigeria for 8.5 years, which is where many of his treasured stories originated. He was a highly trained and respected service technician and could ''fix anything but a relationship''. He had many friends from all over the world and he never met a stranger. He sacrificed countless hours of his time for anyone in need. What was most important to him were his girls. He was the proudest Daddy! If you ever asked him what his accomplishments in life were, he would say, ''My Girls''. He was fortunate enough to meet Dee, the love of his life, to complete his story. He is going to be missed by all that had the privilege of meeting him because he always left a lasting imprint on your heart.
I was so saddened to hear of the loss of this great man. He was my 2nd father in the 70s and 80s in Lagos.
To the family please accept my condolences in the lost of your dear love one. May the memories you once shared bring comfort to your heart along with the wonderful
promises from God that soon Death and pain will be no more. Revelation 21:3,4)
May God bless and shelter you Dee. Gary was a great man.
You have my deepest sympathy. I know Gary will be missed. You are in my prayers.
Rest In Peace Gary!
What a wonderful friend who will be missed every day
