I can't think of anybody that was as genuine as Sel in my 55 years on this earth. Just a prince of a guy. Haven't seen him in about 20 years, but his passing doesn't hurt any less. As a fellow Arkansan at Ole Miss, we found common ground immediately. I pray that his family finds some solace knowing how beloved he was as a fraternity brother and an individual in general. He will be missed by countless people that had the opportunity to know him and call him a friend.
Sel was such a fun guy to be around. I will always remember him as one of my favorite cousins to travel to see when we were kids. He will be greatly missed.
Beckie: I know that Selby's presence will support you through the years to come. I know you, William, Kaytlyn and Hannah will smile again because your memories will comfort you. Rest Selby, you have found peace. Love you all, the Scott Family.
My heart is deeply broken for Sel and family. We were very close friends until Sel went off to School. I have so many happy memories of time spent with Sel. May God hold you in his loving arms, protect and keep you. You will always have a gut wrenching ache in your heart where you held Sel close. Fill it with only happy memories and hold on to God. God Bless.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire family during this difficult time!
Sel was my first "best " friend. I have so many wonderful memories of our early childhood. We grew up in the same church, so I guess that is how we were such good friends, because we weren't neighbors. We climbed trees and played in their attic full of treasures. I can remember sitting down for meals in their kitchen. For some reason wheat germ pops into my head. Maybe Mr. Bill put it on something, not sure. I remember thinking I was the only girl, besides Allison, allowed in the weight room! We went to separate schools after 4th grade, but to the same church still. Our friendship drifted some, but never vanished. It's been many, many years since I have seen Sel, but my heart breaks now for his family, and myself.
