Carroll Wayne Johnson, 71 of Sherwood went to his heavenly home April 19, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Evelyn Fields Johnson; two daughters, Darla (Rusty) Erickson and Shelly Evans of Sherwood; two granddaughters, Leah Evans of Conway, and Jessica Turner of Sherwood; siblings, Mary Lanell (Ken) Fancher of Mineola, Texas; and Jerry (Tami) Basham of Austin, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; Mildred and Carl Johnson and Nell Basham Johnson; and his sister Glorice (Jim) Jones.
He graduated from Mabelvale High School and Henderson State University. He served in the USAF, and many years at Mountaire Corporation as a computer programmer. He was a member of Baring Cross Baptist Church, the England Masonic Lodge, and a black belt in USTF. He enjoyed his family, singing in the choir, coffee, computers, genealogy, and southern gospel music.
A special thank you to Dr. Shannon McLaughlin, at the VA Hospital for her dedication and compassionate care, for the love shown by Baring Cross Baptist Church, Landmark Baptist Church and Sherwood First Church of the Nazarene.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Landmark Baptist Church, 501 Stuttgart Highway, England, Arkansas. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the same location.
So sorry for your lost. Carrol will be greatly missed. Love y'all, Y'all are in my prayers.
