James Franklin Treat, age 83 of Leslie, Arkansas passed from this life on Saturday,
February 27th, 2016 at Highland Court in Marshall, Arkansas. He was born in Leslie on July 23rd, 1932 to James Eller Treat and Sarah Mae (Young) Treat.
James attended the Leslie First Assembly of God Church. He worked in the logging and timber industry most of his life. James was an excellent musician, songwriter and singer and loved to play the guitar and mandolin. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a kind, unselfish man who always put the needs of others ahead of himself. James was a man with many friends who will miss him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, James Timothy Treat; son-in-law, James R. Morando; siblings, Cecil, Barney, Delbert, Velma, Almer, Alma, Dovie and one sibling who died in infancy.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Alma Louise Treat of the home; sons, Michael D. (Kathryn) Treat, Stephen ''Phill'' (Amberly) Treat and Russell F. (Fawn) Treat, all of Leslie; daughter, Elise G. Morando of Leslie; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephew, other family and friends who will also mourn his passing.
Funeral services for James will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, March 2nd, 2016 at Roller-Coffman Funeral Home in Marshall, Arkansas with Bro. Cairl Baysinger and Bro. Anthony DeVore officiating. Visitation will be 6:00 till 8:00 PM Tuesday in the Chapel. Burial will be in Nubbin Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Allen Treat, Kevin Parent, Josh Treat, Doug Campbell, Wade Smith and Dave Watts.

James was one of a kind. Always had a smile and story to tell me. I remember him always being at the station of an afternoon and on Sat. getting something done to his log truck.
He will be missed by many. He was one fine MAN and we will see him again on the other side.
