David Arden Wright, age 64, of Diamond City, Arkansas, died at his home on October 13, 2009. Mr. Wright was born on October 5, 1945, at San Jose, CA, the son of Howard and Velma Farmer Wright. Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
Mr. Wright was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served in the U.S. Army from April 1964 to April 1967. He was a long time member of American Legion Post 340 in Diamond City. He served in Washington, DC and received several medals. He was a fishing guide for several years in Diamond City. He enjoyed helping the Legion, fishing, bird watching, spending time at Mardi Gras and spending time with his family. David helped raise several children that came through his door. He was tough as nails and an inspiration to all.
David Wright is survived by his loving wife, Sandra, of the home; his daughter and son-in-law, Nora and Tom Ward, of Omaha; his sons and daughters-in-law, Eric and Deanna Richardson of Phoenix, Arizona, Jeff Wright of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brian Wright and Alex Wright, both of Florida, and Jason and Melissa Wright of Diamond City.
He is also survived by his brothers, Frank and Paul; two step-sisters of California; his ten grandchildren, Jamie, Mathew, Robert, Erica, Gabrielle, Olivia, Andrew, Nicholas, Claire and Mason; and nine great-grandchildren.
Cremation under the direction of Roller-Christeson Funeral Home.
A Memorial Service was Sunday, October 25, 2009, at American Legion Post 340 in Diamond City, with Roger Smith eulogizing.
The Wright Family would like to thank everyone for their kindness & help during this tough time. Words can not express the gratitude we have for you all. The kind words, food, comfort, & love has been overwhelming and greatly appreciated. Thank you for loving & caring about Dad as much as we all do.
