Charles (Chuck) Ralph York, Jr., of Conway passed away peacefully April 25, 2025, in Conway, Arkansas, after a brief battle with cancer. He was 74 years old.

He was born on August 8, 1950, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Charles Ralph York, Sr. and Billye (Anderson) York, where he grew up and graduated from Little Rock Hall High School and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from the University of Central Arkansas and after graduation undertook graduate studies in audiology at Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma. While at UCA, he was a member of the Arkansas National Guard and Phi Lambda Chi Fraternity, where he was named National Man of the Year.

In his sophomore year in high school, he met his future wife, Victoria Ann Buchanan, at a band competition. After several years of courtship that included weekly drives to her hometown of Searcy they were married on June 28, 1970. They travelled the ups and downs of life together for the next 54 years.

Chuck devoted his entire professional career of 37 years to the service of others through his work as an audiologist at the Conway Human Development Center, where he was widely renowned for his regular fish fries and homemade barbeque. He was an avid outdoorsman and was most at home in the woods of South Arkansas at his beloved Club 11 deer camp. He also loved to fish and camp at Greers Ferry Lake, played recreational softball for many years, and was highly active in the lives of his children as a Scoutmaster and coach. He was a fiercely devoted and loyal husband, father, and friend, and there was nothing he wouldn't do to help someone he cared for, without expecting anything in return. He was a member of Grace Methodist Church in Conway.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the gentle souls at Gentiva Hospice who helped provide loving care during the last few weeks of Chuck's life, especially Samantha Stane.

He is preceded in death by his daughters Ashley Brooke York and Jayme Marie York, his parents Charles Ralph York, Sr. and Billye (Anderson) York, his brother Thomas York, and his sister Deborah York. He is survived by his loving wife Ann, his sons Andy (Mary Claire) York and Brad York, his sister Sharon (Sonny) Sawyer, his two grandchildren Buck and Anna Kate York, his brother and sister-in-law Bill and Anne Buchanan, two granddogs Charlie and Troy, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Bill Buchanan, Tom Buchanan, Greg Griffith, Calvin Price, Mike Wilkinson, and Dal Burgess. Honorary pallbearers will be Skeet Morse and Johnny King.

Visitation will be Tuesday April 29, 2025, at 2:00 pm immediately followed by services at 3:00 at Roller McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park.
